LINCOLN, Neb. – On Saturday morning, a deceased individual was found in downtown Lincoln.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) responded promptly after receiving a call reporting an unresponsive body on the sidewalk near 12th and O streets shortly after 8:30 a.m.

The deceased was identified by police as a 53-year-old male. Authorities confirmed that the man was homeless and had died of natural causes.

LFR officially pronounced the man dead at 8:45 a.m.
